I'm always working on something.
Highly attuned to the world around me, I find meaning in almost anything; my education in Graphic Design heightens my awareness of culture and the significance of the everyday human experience. Whether the message is commercial or artful, working in this industry means learning something new about our rapidly evolving society and what is important to people. This is what propels my creativity forward.
While I utilize a variety of materials and processes in each fine art project, my methodology is consistent. Building something completely backwards as I would a design project, I begin with an emotion and let the communication unravel from there. I often find inspiration in the potential use of a material, considering its application in a way that can add an extra layer of conceptual depth. Aside of this, while working in studio, I try to let everything I know leave me as I let my subconscious, sensitivity, and formal training of basic visual rules do the walking and talking.
I'm an urban/bumpkin hybrid, born and raised in Central PA, and new again to the Central PA area after spending the last ten years in Chicago. When I'm not immersed in a world of art and design, I can be found on the road with my camera, practicing yoga, or undertaking an interior design project.
In almost everything I do, my crazy cat, Laila, is sure to be underfoot.
